Spending time with family. That’s what the country life is all about. That’s what being a cowboy or cowgirl is all about. That’s what the Cloverdale Rodeo and Country Fair is all about!
We need to make time for family, especially in today’s faced paced world. That’s why the Cloverdale Rodeo is so special – it gives us a place and time where we can spend priceless moments with our loved ones and it take us back (even if just briefly) to a time when things were not so busy. I mean, how can you not slow down and enjoy a Parade, A Country Fair, A Cowboy Cookoff, A Lumberjack Show, The Rides on The Midway and especially the Rodeo! There is so much to do at the Cloverdale Rodeo & Country Fair and it’s all about to happen once again on the May Long Weekend from May 18th – May 21st.
The Cloverdale Rodeo is proud to host the world’s top cowboys and cowgirls in a unique invitational pro rodeo format that ensures the sports’ premier athletes are showcased throughout five Rodeo performances. For 2012, the Cloverdale Rodeo will feature Roughstock Rodeo Events (Bareback, Saddle Bronc & Bull Riding) and Ladies Barrel Racing. The top twenty-four pro rodeo contestants in each event (as per the 2011 Final World Standings) are invited to participate at the Cloverdale Rodeo. These cowboys and cowgirls will be competing for some serious cash with $300,000 up for grabs! This year’s rodeo will feature five action performances consisting of two shows on each Saturday & Sunday at 2:00 pm & 7:30 pm and the Finals on Monday at 3:00 pm. The really cool aspect about the Cloverdale Rodeo format is that each and every ride by a contestant is so important. Each contestant will compete in their Rodeo Performance Pool and then the top four cowboys / cowgirls from Pools A & B based on total prize money won will determine the eight Rodeo contestants for the Finals on Monday and the big cash payouts. It goes without saying that each and every contestant will be giving their all in hopes on securing a spot in the Finals, thus guaranteeing that the entire Rodeo weekend will be action packed and filled with thrills and spills!
A little added incentive for the cowboys & cowgirls competing at the Cloverdale Rodeo is that Cloverdale, along with the Calgary Stampede and eight other Rodeos throughout the USA is a part of the CINCH-RODEOHOUSTON SUPER SHOOTOUT. The Super Shootout takes the winners of the Bareback, Saddle Bronc, Bull Riding & Ladies Barrel Racing events from ten selected top rodeos in North America and puts them head-to-head against each other in a season ending shootout for even more prize money in Houston. That Cloverdale is part of this select group of Rodeos just goes to show the star power that the Cloverdale Rodeo has and is another reason why you and your family can’t miss it!
