Surrey, BC, CANADA – A very familiar retailer to everyone in the equine world and a Langley favorite in neighboring Cloverdale is turning 50 this year. Since 1966, Stampede Tack & Western Wear has been the go to place for folks looking for everything equine and western wear. Many of Langley’s residents – who help make Langley the Horse Capital of BC – have shopped there since the day Jack Graham first opened the doors of Stampede Feed & Tack all those years ago and making Stampede a destination for Langley residents.

Stampede Tack today is a local, family run business that Ralph and Floss Winkler have been a part of since 1984. They originally purchased Cliff Saddlery from longtime Langley resident John Scotten (who can still be found around the riding arena of Langley Riders) in 1980. Cliff Saddlery was located on Fraser Highway during the 1970’s just across the road from where Gabby’s Country Cabaret is located today. Many longtime residents of Langley are sure to remember this little gem of a tack store! In 1984 the Winkler’s became partners in Stampede Tack and merged the two stores into one. So in a sense, this celebration is how a little tack store in Langley became one of the best known Tack & Western Stores in Canada! Today, together with their two daughters and a son-in-law (all from Langley) they are announcing that they are having a anniversary event as a way of saying thanks to all their great friends and customers over the years. Many of Stampede’s customers have been around these parts just as long as the store itself and in many ways they are more than customers. Many friendships have been made over the years – in fact three of Stampede’s employees have been there for over 25 years and have a special bond with the Langley Equine community. So on Saturday, October 8th Stampede Tack is going to say thank you for a great 50 years.

Between now and October 8th stay tuned to Stampede Tack’s Facebook, Instagram and Twitter feeds for information on this event. There will be lots of announcements for sales and specials as well as a ton of giveaways. Country music station JRFM will be onsite as well and hosting a BBQ with refreshments! Keep your eyes peeled and your ears open as Stampede Tack & Western Wear in Cloverdale celebrates 50 years in business and they say thank you to their customers.

Happy trails everyone and we look forward to seeing you in Cloverdale throughout the May Long Weekend!

Spending time with family. That’s what the country life is all about. That’s what being a cowboy or cowgirl is all about. That’s what the Cloverdale Rodeo and Country Fair is all about!

We need to make time for family, especially in today’s faced paced world. That’s why the Cloverdale Rodeo is so special – it gives us a place and time where we can spend priceless moments with our loved ones and it take us back (even if just briefly) to a time when things were not so busy. I mean, how can you not slow down and enjoy a Parade, A Country Fair, A Cowboy Cookoff, A Lumberjack Show, The Rides on The Midway and especially the Rodeo! There is so much to do at the Cloverdale Rodeo & Country Fair and it’s all about to happen once again on the May Long Weekend from May 18th – May 21st.

The Cloverdale Rodeo is proud to host the world’s top cowboys and cowgirls in a unique invitational pro rodeo format that ensures the sports’ premier athletes are showcased throughout five Rodeo performances. For 2012, the Cloverdale Rodeo will feature Roughstock Rodeo Events (Bareback, Saddle Bronc & Bull Riding) and Ladies Barrel Racing. The top twenty-four pro rodeo contestants in each event (as per the 2011 Final World Standings) are invited to participate at the Cloverdale Rodeo. These cowboys and cowgirls will be competing for some serious cash with $300,000 up for grabs! This year’s rodeo will feature five action performances consisting of two shows on each Saturday & Sunday at 2:00 pm & 7:30 pm and the Finals on Monday at 3:00 pm. The really cool aspect about the Cloverdale Rodeo format is that each and every ride by a contestant is so important. Each contestant will compete in their Rodeo Performance Pool and then the top four cowboys / cowgirls from Pools A & B based on total prize money won will determine the eight Rodeo contestants for the Finals on Monday and the big cash payouts. It goes without saying that each and every contestant will be giving their all in hopes on securing a spot in the Finals, thus guaranteeing that the entire Rodeo weekend will be action packed and filled with thrills and spills!

A little added incentive for the cowboys & cowgirls competing at the Cloverdale Rodeo is that Cloverdale, along with the Calgary Stampede and eight other Rodeos throughout the USA is a part of the CINCH-RODEOHOUSTON SUPER SHOOTOUT. The Super Shootout takes the winners of the Bareback, Saddle Bronc, Bull Riding & Ladies Barrel Racing events from ten selected top rodeos in North America and puts them head-to-head against each other in a season ending shootout for even more prize money in Houston. That Cloverdale is part of this select group of Rodeos just goes to show the star power that the Cloverdale Rodeo has and is another reason why you and your family can’t miss it!

There are a number of ways you can get your tickets. For many years now Stampede Tack & Western Wear in Cloverdale has teamed up with one the top Western Wear brands on the planet to offer a ticket promo to its customers.
